What does the "R10" Footwear Rating mean for my project?
The "R" scale (R9 to R13) measures slip resistance for people wearing footwear. An R10 rating means this floor provides enhanced grip and is legally and structurally approved for commercial wet environments where staff or users might be wearing shoes, such as changing rooms or spa receptions.
The technical specs show a Pendulum Test value of ≥36. What does this mean?
The Pendulum Test is the UK’s official standard (approved by the HSE) for measuring slip resistance. It uses a swinging imitation heel to test the floor's grip in wet conditions. A score of 36 or higher officially classifies the floor as having a "Low Slip Potential," which is the gold standard required to legally protect your business against slip-and-fall claims in wet areas.
Can this flooring be installed over underfloor heating?
Yes, absolutely. It is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems up to a maximum surface temperature of 27°C. Our London installation team ensures the correct thermal adhesives are used during setup.
What is "Polysafe PUR" and how does it help with maintenance?
PUR is a clear, super-tough polyurethane reinforcement applied to the surface. In the past, safety floors were notoriously difficult to clean because of their rough texture. Polysafe PUR seals the surface, allowing you to clean it easily without losing any of its non-slip performance.
What makes Polyflor Polysafe Hydro different from regular vinyl flooring?
Regular vinyl can become incredibly slippery when wet. Polysafe Hydro is a dedicated safety floor engineered with an embossed (textured) surface and aggregate particles embedded into the vinyl. This design creates friction even under a layer of water, making it safe for high-risk wet areas.
