How to Measure a Room for New Flooring

Accurate measurement is vital for successful "wool carpet installations" and ensuring a professional finish in any room.

Total accuracy helps reduce waste and improves fitting. Whether you choose LVT or carpet, correct sizing is essential.

Use a tape measure, paper, and pen. Draw a simple floor plan including doorways, alcoves, fireplaces, and windows.

Measure the widest width and length wall to wall. Check multiple points as London walls are rarely perfectly straight.

Mark all recess points and doorways clearly on your sketch. This ensures your order covers every inch of the floor.

Always add 10cm extra to each measurement. This allows for precise cutting and trimming during the fitting process.

Remember to measure into all doorways. This helps calculate thresholds and door bars accurately for your project.

Correct room measurements avoid costly ordering mistakes and ensure a smoother carpet setup.

At EXEN Flooring, we provide professional measuring across London.

Our team handles floor preparation and installation for residential and commercial properties with expert care.

Why should I choose Cormar Trilogy?

Trilogy is ideal if you want a natural wool carpet but also want a choice of different textures. Instead of choosing between completely separate collections, you can select from three designs within the same range

Are all three designs made from the same fibre?

Yes. All three are made from 100% Pure New Wool.

What is the difference between Brontë, Austen and Collins?

The main difference is their loop-pile texture and appearance. Cormar describes the three designs as offering different levels of texture and character underfoot.

Is Trilogy suitable for high-traffic areas?

Yes. Cormar rates Trilogy for Extra Heavy Domestic and Medium Contract use, and specifically describes wool loop carpets as suitable for high-traffic areas.

Is Trilogy moth resistant?

Yes. Cormar identifies Trilogy as moth resistant.

Which Trilogy design has the lowest Tog rating?

Austen, at 1.2 Tog, followed by Collins at 1.3 and Brontë at 1.4.

Does Trilogy have a stain warranty?

No. Cormar's warranty information lists Trilogy with a 10-Year Wear Warranty, but not a 10-Year Stain Warranty. This is consistent with it being a 100% wool carpet rather than a polypropylene easy-clean carpet.
