Our customer, Robert Barnette, contacted EXEN Flooring about installing a natural cork floor in his bathroom in Barnet, London. For Robert's bathroom, we calculated the cork tile dimensions against the measurements of the room and adjusted the starting position accordingly. This allowed us to create a balanced layout, with the cork tiles finishing at equal measurements on both sides of the bathroom.

Careful setting-out at this stage helped create a more symmetrical finished appearance and avoided ending up with an unnecessarily narrow cut on one side of the room.

Glue-Down Cork Tile Installation

Once the layout had been established, adhesive was applied separately to the cork tiles and the prepared floor. The adhesive was allowed to dry to the required condition before the tiles were carefully positioned.

Once a tile has been placed, lifting it back up and attempting to correct its position is not something that can simply be relied upon during installation.
