Amtico Click LVT Installation in New Malden, Kingston upon Thames
EXEN Flooring recently completed a 50m² Amtico Click LVT installation in New Malden, within the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.
The customer had purchased a new flat with old carpet throughout and wanted to update the property before moving in. We recommended an Amtico oak-effect finish, and after the customer selected their preferred colour, our team supplied and installed the new click-down luxury vinyl tile flooring.
The installation covered three rooms, one hallway and three storage cupboards. A key requirement was for the new floor to run continuously between the rooms and hallway without threshold strips, creating a clean and connected finish throughout the flat.

Choosing the Amtico Click LVT Layout
Before installation began, we discussed the direction of the Amtico Click LVT planks with the customer.
Plank direction can make a significant difference to the look of a flat, particularly when flooring continues through several connected spaces. We planned the layout to create a consistent visual flow from the rooms into the hallway.
The customer wanted no threshold strips between the rooms. We therefore chose the starting point carefully and planned the installation sequence so the flooring could continue smoothly across each connection.
Removing the Old Carpet and Underlay
The existing floor was covered with old carpet. Before the Amtico Click LVT could be installed, our team removed the carpet, underlay and all remaining fittings from the subfloor.
This included carefully taking out the gripper rods, staples and nails. Removing these materials properly is an important part of preparing a floor for click LVT installation, helping to create a clean base for the new flooring.
Amtico Click LVT Fitting Across the Flat
Once the floor was prepared, we began fitting the Amtico Click LVT from the left side of the flat and worked through to the right.
The installation was planned carefully across the three rooms, hallway and storage cupboards. Each plank was fitted with attention to the room connections, ensuring the floor remained consistent and visually balanced throughout the property.
The completed threshold-free connections created a smooth transition between the rooms and helped the flat feel more open.
White Beading and Silicone Finishing
After the LVT fitting was complete, we installed white beading around the edge of the flat.
Beading covers the necessary expansion gap between the floor and walls, creating a neat perimeter finish. The customer chose white beading to complement the walls and create a clean, bright appearance.
We fixed the beading with adhesive and applied silicone where required between the beading and wall. This final stage gave the full installation a more polished finish.
Final Clean and Customer Handover
Once the flooring and beading were complete, our team cleaned the flat and completed a final quality check.
The new Amtico Click LVT transformed the property, replacing old carpet with a practical oak-effect floor that runs continuously through the main rooms and hallway. The customer was delighted with the finished result and left EXEN Flooring positive feedback.
