Amtico Spacia Click LVT Installation in Southwark, London

EXEN Flooring recently completed a 22m² Amtico Spacia Click LVT installation in Southwark, London, replacing the existing carpet in two rooms of a newly purchased flat. Our customer, Anthony, had purchased his Amtico Spacia Click LVT separately and chose EXEN Flooring to carry out the flooring work, including the uplift and disposal of the existing carpet and associated materials.

After receiving the booking through the EXEN Flooring website, we contacted Anthony to discuss the project details and arrange a suitable installation date. The appointment was booked for 19 August, and our team attended the flat at the agreed time. The complete project was finished in one day, including the removal of the old flooring, preparation around the door frames, installation of a suitable acoustic underlay, fitting of the Amtico click LVT and installation of matching beading and thresholds.

Anthony gave us 5 stars on google. See customers review.

Removing the Existing Carpet and Preparing the Rooms

The first stage of the project was to remove the existing carpet from both rooms. Anthony had selected the uplift and disposal service as part of the project, allowing the old flooring to be removed before the new LVT installation began. This included removing the carpet, existing underlay, grippers and thresholds, followed by cleaning the areas in preparation for the new floor.

Once the old carpet and associated materials had been removed, the rooms were ready for the next stages of the work. Removing the existing flooring also allowed the team to address the areas around the doorways before the new LVT was fitted.

Preparing the Door Frames for LVT

Before the new flooring was installed, our team prepared the bottom sections of the door frames. The ends of the door frames were cut to accommodate the thickness of the LVT, allowing the new flooring to run underneath them.

This preparation allowed the LVT to meet the door frames neatly rather than requiring visible cuts around the bottom of each frame. Careful preparation around doorways and transitions can make an important difference to the finished appearance of a flooring project.

Acoustic Underlay for the Amtico Click LVT

After the existing flooring had been removed and the necessary preparation completed, a suitable acoustic underlay for the customer's chosen LVT was laid across the relevant areas.

The underlay was installed before the Amtico flooring, after which the team identified the most suitable starting point and began fitting the click LVT across the two rooms.

Amtico Spacia Click LVT Installation

The customer's Amtico Spacia Click LVT was then installed across both rooms. The flooring was fitted throughout the prepared areas, with attention given to the edges, doorways and transitions.

Because the project involved two rooms within a newly purchased flat, the flooring needed to be fitted neatly across both spaces. Once the LVT installation was completed, the rooms had been transformed from their original carpeted floors to the customer's chosen Amtico click LVT flooring.

Matching Beading and Thresholds

Once the Amtico LVT installation was complete, the finishing work was carried out. Beading and thresholds matching the colour of the customer's LVT were installed to complete the edges and transitions.

The matching finishing pieces completed the flooring around the perimeter of the rooms and at the points where the new LVT met other areas of the flat. With the beading and thresholds fitted, the flooring project was complete.

Replacing Carpet with LVT in Southwark, London

Replacing an existing carpet with LVT can involve several stages beyond fitting the new flooring itself. In this project, the old carpet, underlay, grippers and thresholds were removed first, the door frames were prepared for the new floor, and a suitable acoustic underlay was installed before the Amtico LVT was fitted.
